I am not waiting…

I don’t know why we do it to ourselves.

I feel like over and over again we all fall into the same pattern – We want something to happen, we think it should happen, yet for various reasons we decide that we won’t do anything about it… No, instead we will play the waiting game where we simply wait, and let life happen around us pretending that we don’t have our part to play.

It will happen if it’s meant to. What will be will be.

No darling.

It will happen if you make it happen.

What will be is what you decide it to be.

I’m tired of people telling me that they simply can’t do something, or they have to play these games because that’s what you do! We teach kids that just because soandso does something it doesn’t mean that they have to, yet it seems as adults we just have to follow these imaginary rules of how to get what you want…

Oh you have to pretend you don’t like them to get them to like you silly! Pretend you don’t care and they’ll want it more, people always want what they can’t have!

What?

That makes absolutely no sense.

Yes, by all means let’s show people that we care about that we don’t care (even though we do) in the hope that they will care more thus validating our existence and our feelings.

You know what?

I’m over it.

I’m not waiting anymore.

If I want something, I’ll be damned if I let any of these made-up rules govern how I go about getting it. In my opinion, if you want something go get it, if you like someone, let them know. By continuing to play these games even if we don’t want to, we are simply reinforcing the belief that this is simply the way you do things, and things will continue in the same way.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

On every level.

I am sick of playing these games with people, so guess what?

I’m not playing anymore.
